9.17.2014 - Books and Beyond: How a Green Tree Public Library Card Can Help Your Child at School (7:00PM - 8:00PM)
We all know that libraries are jam-packed with books, but do you know what else you can do with a library card? Join us for an introduction to the the world beyond the library's bookshelves and learn how one simple library card can help you and your child set the path for a fantastic school year. We'll share databases that are great for research and class projects, tell how you can check out a Kindle, show off our collection of free eBooks, and even give you details on free library services for downloading music, stream videos, and much much more. We promise you'll learn something new and see that the library is more than just what you remember from your own childhood. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. This program is aimed at parents of children in grades K through 12. Registration is required. Don't have a library card? Bring your photo ID with your current address (eg. a valid and current driver's license) and visit the library before the program begins. Or plan on staying after the program to get, update, or renew a card. It only takes a few minutes to get connected with all that the library has to offer! Click HERE to register.

Children and caregivers can enjoy this special storytime together, practice packing lunches for school, and make friends along the way!
