3.1.2014 - RC's Spring Break (Preschool - Grade 5)
Have you met RC? He's the Summer Reading Mascot! And he's super excited to say goodbye to snow and ice, and say hello to sunshine and everything nice! It's not summer yet, but RC has spring fever and wants to get out and see his friends! So during the month of March, children in Preschool - Grade 5 can check out an RC at Green Tree Public Library and take him home for a little vacation. In addition to taking home RC, children will also take home an RC's Spring Break Diary. Children will fill out the diary, draw (or take photos) of RC doing some awesome things and bring both back to the library. All children who complete and return RC's Spring Break Diary will receive a bookmark be entered to win a bag of books. Please visit, or call the library, for more details and official rules. RC will be available for checkout starting Saturday, March 1 and RC must be returned by Monday, March 31.
4.8.2014 - Paperback Book Swap Hosted by Friends of Green Tree Public Library (6:30PM - 8:00PM)
The Friends of Green Tree Public Library will be hosting a Paperback Book Swap on Tuesday, April 8th from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the Sycamore Room. Light refreshments and socializing will begin at 6:30 p.m. All books must be placed on the display table by 7:00 p.m. so that they'll be ready for the swap at 7:15 p.m. This is a great opportunity to do some spring cleaning! There's no limit to the number of paperback books in good condition (no torn pages or dirty or dusty) that you can bring, but each participant will take home a maximum of three books. The Friends will issue tickets at the door indicating how many books each participant intends to swap. Only paperback books will be available for exchange. Even though we will only be exchanging paperbacks, you may bring hardback books to be donated to our Annual Used Book Sale. All books left after the book swap will also be donated. This event is free for adults and teens ages 16 and up. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Click HERE to register.
