Spooktastic events are happening at the Green Tree Public Library for Halloween. Coming up we have three main events that are open to the public.
Mini Skeleton Decorating Exhibit:
If you have ever looked at a skeleton and thought well this could use some color don’t worry, you’re not alone. The Green Tree Public Library is hosting a contest to determine who can best decorate a mini skeleton! Though the time frame of entering the contest is closed, you are still welcome to come in and see the skeleton exhibit from October 21st through November 1st.
Halloween Storytime and Parade:
One of the biggest traditions on Halloween is telling scary stories and going Trick or Treating. And this year the library is offering the chance for kids between the ages of 2 and 6 to do just that. The kids will have Halloween books read to them, they can sing spooky Halloween songs and dance their hearts out. Once the spooky party is over the children will be taken through the building in a parade to show off their costumes and of course collect candy! So be sure to have them wear a costume and bring a container for treats. The event will take place on Tuesday October 29th, 2024, from 10:30am to 11:30 am. If you’re interested, register your child before the event begins on the 29th. Adults with children are welcome to stay as well and any kids under two don’t need to register and are very welcome to attend as well. Registration is required and began September 24th so feel free to register soon to claim a spot!
Halloween Scavenger Hunt:
Do you like going looking for the things that go bump in the night? Well, here is your chance. The library is hosting a Halloween themed scavenger hunt on October 31st, 2024, during the time of 10 am to 5 pm. All are welcome to see if they can find all the creepy crawlies in the library during that time. Any child that can find them all will win a prize, and you don’t even need to register for this event. But to be on the safe side against the ghouls and ghosts an adult must accompany all children.
Hope to see you at these events! For more information or to register for the story time go to https://www.greentreelibrary.org/
