Voter Planning Resources

Elections are right around the corner and the time has come to vote for a new president. Before you get to voting there are a few things you should know. The elections are to take place on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024. The booths will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the understanding that if you are in line at 8 p.m. you can still vote. In order for a person to vote however, you need to be informed about the resources available. The registration for voting timeframe has unfortunately passed, but if you have registered or will be in the future then this information is for you. Like in many situations, it is important to have a plan in place about how you are going to vote. Of course, one option is to mail in your ballot. This option is still available, and you have until October 29th to request your ballot.

Another option is to go in person to the ballot boxes and vote there. For that, you will need to know a few things. Number one is the location of your polling box. For Green Tree, there are four different voting districts, based on where you live. Here is a link to help you figure out which one you belong to:  https://www.greentreeboro.com/government/voting.php. One thing to know is how you are getting to the polling booths. The transportation there and back is something that should be a top priority. According to USA Today, Lyft is offering a 50% discount up, to ten dollars, to anyone that is traveling to the polls. This offer is extended with the hope that everyone has a chance to vote and will do so. There are many resources available to the people of Allegheny County. These resources are designed to help a person to create their voting plan. If you get the chance, make your plan, and go vote.
