Culture and language help people connect, form relationships, and create community. What better place to do this than at the library! The Nasri Family, long-term Green Tree residents, give a very generous grant every year to support language and cultural initiatives in honor of their father, Dr. William Z. Nasri, and have been doing so since 2009.
Their grant supports initiatives to help people learn about other cultures and foreign languages, including international and language programs that are free and open to everyone and the Nasri Language, a collection of materials about global culture, foreign languages, and texts on English as a second language. Through their annual donation, the family fulfills their father’s goal of educating as many people as possible.
The grant allows for the library to host three events. There is an International Chat Room, which is taking place on November 9th beginning at 11 a.m. and going until 12:30 p.m. If you are from a different state, country, nation, or anything else, you are welcome to attend.
